Years of skate?

More than half of my life... around thirteen years.

What was the first thing you saw that made you want to be a skater?

A skateboard in my house from my older brother; at that time all my friends took their older brothers's skateboards and we all started skating together. I remember we were skating the whole day long just right behind my house and it was so good when we all learned the hardest move of that time: the ollie!!!

What were the best trips you went on, thanks to skateboarding?

There is so much fun in every single trip I've been. I remember when I was younger my first trips with my friends around Andalucia were so good. The beginning it's always the best part of anything: everything is new... With Danny Lozz and all the Spanish Vans team I had so much fun. I remember in Portugal on my first trip with the spanish team, one night in particular, we were laughing so much just right before go to bed because Paxty, the photographer, was snoring so loud as an ipod could, so we started calling him patxIpod. The morning after I couldn`t open my eyes, the tears were dry and stick my eyelids together, ha ha ha ha!

How is it to hang out with the rest of the team?

It's great mate, Ross and Kris they even spend some time at my home in their holidays, just having fun and skating around my place. On trips everyone connect well and we support each other as much as we can. I used to talk a lot with the english guys just to learn english, so they ended up being my good friends. Now the next missions is French... Who will be my next best friend? Paco, Hugo, Sam, Flo...?

What story could you tell about some Vans trips with them?

There are so many, but I guess the best ones shouldn't be told, ha ha ha! In Dubai we were asked by the local people if we were models or why we were looking in such a curious manner.

What is your daily life like?

Depends on where and in which season I am, but easy…. I wake up on time although it could be late for others, ha ha ha! In the morning I don`t usually go skate, I rather do all the stuff at home or in the shop or if I really have nothing to do, in a sunny day, I'd probably go to the beach for a while or to have lunch with my brother and sister. In the afternoon the skate session starts, I go skate anywhere around the city until I have the last session in the skatepark late at night.

A perfect day, what would it be?

It would be Sunny, with no many things to do, I'd wake up and have breakfast then I'd go to buy some food to bring to the beach, surf a little bit, have a few drinks and chill until the sun would go down enough to let skate and the finish the day chilling at home (or in the bar).

You’ve been in many countries the past month, which one did you like the most?

As a place to live I would say probably Australia even though I didn`t spend enough time there, otherwise China was amazing unlike anywhere I've ever been before.

You live in South Spain, how was it growing up as a skater over there?

I had a lot of friends, that's the best thing over there, the people are so nice and make everything easy. I was skating with a few friends for years just in the street right behind my house as everybody we built ramps and stuff from time to time, but there was no much going on and all of them quit skating at some point. I kept ripping for over a year, then I started playing football seriously and my coach didn't want me to skate anymore and I quit too for a while. One day my older sister came to me with some skaters she knew and her surfer friends and she introduced me to them, she knew football was not that interesting to me. It turned a bit easier for me to go skate because I went with her and I could go to others spot that my mother wouldn't let me go by myself. At that time I also met Vela, the only one who was still skating from the times at the famous Camaron's plaza. A few years after some new guys like Luis, one of my best friend, came in the crew, then I met more people from some others cities like all the Chiclaneros. Now it's all good, we have a nice skatepark, some plazas and I love the weather, the people, the lifestyle... I really like to spend my time at home after a long trip. I've just realized how good it`s my life!

Which feeling/trick is the best in Skateboarding?

Big pop kickflip going fast, fs crooks, bs tailslide, fs noseslide, any spin landing fast to fakie... Just anything well done.

What do you do when you’re not skateboarding?

Getting ready to skate, ha ha ha ha! Or probably resting from skateboarding... I love to be at the beach chilling with my friends playing football, tennis, surfing. I just like to hang out with my friends here and there, maybe we play some ping-pong too. On my own, I wacth movies, listen to music, I try to learn new languages...

What do you like the most in the Vans shoes?

Definetly the sole, I can skate them from the first day with no problem. They have thin soles but comfortable enough for anything: miniramp, gaps, fliptricks... My favourite models are half cab, chukka low, new era, Rowley, Jhonny Layton... actually most of them.

What would be your life like without skateboarding?

I don't know and it doesn't really matter, but I like to think I would be doing anything else that I would like as much as skateboarding, who knows. I could have been an artist or a football player or a single engineer...

What really matters in life?

Feelings, thoughts, things that can't get lost. Get your own happiness, do whatever you want and be free.
