Parra has been a skateboarder since he was 10 and was even lucky enough to get “sponsored” around the age of 17 by Vans in The Netherlands. What glorious days...cutting off brand new Caballero’s. He now lives in Amsterdam and draws a lot! For this Vans project, it’s basically colors, beaks and boards! Parra draws vintage form with curves, yet with a decidedly modern, post-pop approach. His vibrant, colorful and often humorous images feature a distinctive, hand-drawn feel. They can be seen printed and drawn on paper in various exhibitions globally: on a flyer for a club near you, on the sleeve of a record, on billboards, and silk screened on tees and sweaters.
